Advocate for Emerging Technologies

solar_wind-power The electric industry has embarked on its largest transformation since the Pearl Street station opened in 1882. New technologies, a primary driving force, are transforming how we generate, convey and use electrons.

Lauren is an advocate for emerging technologies. She consults with innovative companies that are bringing new products to market advising them on how to overcome market barriers. She served as an informal advisor to GENI ¹ at ARPA-E.

Since 1994, Lauren has participated in the electric industry from all perspectives:

Federal: Senior Advisor to the Secretary of the DOE focusing on institutional barriers in the electric industry;
State: Commissioner at the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin regulating public and municipal utilities; and
Private Sector: Lawyer representing utilities (electric) and utility customers (water).
